Pubs & Restaurants, Keswick
These Keswick options are just some of our personal favourites – all of which are dog friendly simply because we like to take Jazz and Merlin out with us whenever possible, but they also serve good food with a great atmosphere.
But don’t worry if these aren’t your favs, there are plenty of other places to try in Keswick!
Styled like an American Diner there is always a friendly welcome here and we love the food. Its American, Mexican, and tasty. Something a little different from your normal Lakeland fair.
The Royal Oak
Known for offering some of the best pub grub in Keswick the food is traditional, uncomplicated, and all locally sourced.
The Dog and Gun
A local favourite that is renowned country wide for its goulash and friendly atmosphere. Muddy boots and dogs very welcome; a true walkers pub. And the Thursday night quiz is always popular, so get there early if you want a good seat...or just a seat.
Magnolia Bar Bistro
Lovely, relaxed atmosphere with over 50 Belgian Beers. Serving Bistro food, lunch time and evenings. It’s just one we like and it feels a little different from the norm.
Italian restaurant Ice cream shop and coffee bar. This is one of our favourite restaurants in Keswick it does however get very, very busy so it’s always worth booking. Cassa Bella serves freshly cooked pasta and pizza plus steaks and chicken is also on the menu. For desert, there are gelato’s and homemade ice cream definitely worth a visit. They do also do takeaways.
(not dog friendly)
The Sizzling Stone
If you fancy something a bit different and special then this may be the place to try. Located at the top of town near Fitz park. This is all about cooking your own meat, fish, or vegi option on their very own “sizzling stones”.
Inn on the square
Located in the centre of Keswick the inn on the Square has various options for you. The bar overlooking Keswick main street serving fantastic coffee and scones for a little snack or there is also a full bar menu that’s worth sampling. For the evening, the steak restaurant is exceptional we took Dave for Father’s Day and he keeps asking when he can go back, bless him – definitely worth a visit if you like your steaks.
Woodstone Pizza and Flame Grill
Casual relaxed spot that serves BBQ meats, burgers, Kebabs and stone baked pizzas. Again, in high season this place can get busy. The handmade, stone baked pizzas are really good and it’s another that’s worth a visit. They do allow dogs, but not always if they are really busy.
Café bar by day and live venue by night, this small venue is a great little find whatever the time of day. There is a good lunch menu for day time snacks or meals and the coffee is excellent in the evening this turns into a bar which often has live music playing. There’s tapas on offer along with stone baked pizzas. Its dog friendly too.
Jaspers Coffee House
I like this place for a coffee and a cake or light lunch while I’m in Keswick. You always seem to be able to get a spot and the dogs are welcome even when we’ve just walked down from the fell. It’s quite new and slightly out of the main centre right at the top of town but don’t let this put you off. You’ll find them on Facebook as they don’t have a website
Mrs F’s Fine Food Emporium
This is a quirky friendly place for a homemade scone, cake, or soup. Everyone’s welcome again I’ve popped in here for a coffee after a day’s walking with muddy boots, woofs in tow, and felt right at home. Definitely worth a visit if your passing it’s a lovely atmosphere and everyone’s friendly and welcoming.
