The gardens of the house stretch from Dodd Wood to Bassenthwaite Lake and include woodland play areas, a heather maze, a rhododendron tunnel, and a poetry walk for children and grownups.

Mirehouse and Gardens are open between the months 1st April – 31st October.

The gardens are open daily from 10am to 5pm. The house is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesday afternoons (also Fridays in August) from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
